December 16, 2010 journal, 60 Minutes reveals bankrupt collapsing state governments. 60 Minutes has shown the deplorable condition most states are in now financially and the stimulus funds run out in the Spring so they will be back for more and a lot more to keep operating. Of course we know California is in the worst financial condition imaginable. The State of Illinois is 6 months behind paying their bills and many contractors will never be paid including Medicaid providers and faith based organizations providing services. They reported many highway patrol vehicles are being denied gasoline on the state credit cards. New Jersey is flat broke admittedly not able to pay their retirees and firing teachers like crazy. They say the states collectively owe a trillion dollars. California's bond rating is practically zero and worsening by the day. States appear to be unable to payoff bonds. The reporter on CBS 60 Minutes practically said that most states are a financial basket case about to all be dropped on the back of the federal government and the taxpayers. This is what I have been predicting as a universal collapse of Cities, counties, states, and the federal government. The states will belly up before the federal government does because they do not have the Fed pumping money unlimited into their Treasury like the federal government does have by the Fed. The State of Virginia reports over $16 billion in unfunded pension fund liabilities and are anticipating a default like most states with runaway retiree obligations they can not meet. 100 military veterans chained themselves to the White House fence in protest of the wars.
